Harvard’s welcome screen provides helpful information and useful links; it’s more like a traditional web site, which fits the Ivy League pretty well. You’re only one click away from Harvard’s wall which more closely resembles a typical facebook presence.

Emerson has added a simple tab for taking critical next steps for prospective students.

Syracuse University’s Virtual Tour

Syracuse uses a third party application to offer students an interactive virtual tour–without leaving facebook.

All of these examples add some kind of visually branded element to facebook; I think it’s also important to acknowledge they are ways of working in additional content and utility into facebook and to me that is just as important as the visual part of the brand.
